Ladies and Gentleman
On 27-28 September 2007 took place second edition of The Baltic Metropolitan Economic Forum, arranged by The Gdańsk Academy of Banking, held under the honorable patronage of the President Lech Wałęsa, Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship Jan Kozłowski, President of the Gdańsk City Paweł Adamowicz and Gdańsk Region communities.
Primary subject of this year forum was debate on conditions and possibilities of services outsourcing to Gdańsk Metropolitan Area within the limits of Business Process Offshoring and of investment in tourism sector.
The main objective of the whole BMEF project is the long-term investment stimulation of the Baltic region, as a major factor of the development of its investment attractiveness among other European countries, and in consequence of increasing the employment. We hope that this year Forum, as well as successive meetings will contribute to the development of a cooperation between domestic and foreign investors as well as the representatives of local authorities and self-governments.
According to the above, we would like to thank for the participation in session everybody, who graced us with its presence. At the same time the organizers would like to thank particularly President Lech Wałęsa, Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship Jan Kozłowski, Presidents of the Gdańsk and Sopot Cities and authorities of the voivodeship governments for their support and entire BMEF project assistance.
