Ladies and Gentlemen

It gives us great pleasure to inform you that on September 15th-16th of this year in the Gdańsk Arthus Court took place the first edition of the "Baltic Metropolitan Economic Forum" - the platform for co-operation and building of mutual relations between foreign and domestic investors, as well as the representatives of the local authorities and self-governments.

In connection with the above we would like to express our sincere thanks for their participation to all of those who honored us with their presence.

At the same time the organizers would like to express the Honorary Patrons and Patrons of the Forum headed by the President Lech Wałęsa, the Marshall of the Pomorskie Voivodeship Jan Kozłowski and the Self-Governments of the Bay of Gdańsk Region, for their support and assistance in organizing the entire BMEF Project.

The main idea of the Forum consists of activating long-term investments in the entire Pomorze Region, aimed at increasing its importance on the European map of business attractiveness. We would like the Forum to add to the development of co-operation and building of mutual relations between foreign and domestic investors, as well as the representatives of the local authorities and self-governments. For this purpose the Memorandum of the Gdańsk Metropolitan Area was developed which presents the most important advantages of the counties making up the Bay of Gdańsk Region from the point of view of investors. The Memorandum is available on this Internet page.

The central topic of this year's Forum was the debate on the conditions and possibilities of moving service centres to the Gdańsk Metropolitan Area as part of the "Business Process Offshoring", as well as taking advantages of the chances connected with it for reducing operational costs.

We hope that the meeting provided an important platform for creating and reinforcing business contacts between its participants. In connection with the above we earnestly encourage you to exchange ideas and present suggestions regarding both the Forum, as well as the contents of the Memorandum of the Gdańsk Metropolitan Area (poczta@gab.com.pl with the subject of "BMFG/Memorandum").
